Read, Share, Discuss! LINCS Launches User-Led Book Group!

Greetings LINCS Community,

This holiday season, don’t forget to add Reading for Understanding: How Reading Apprenticeship Improves Disciplinary Learning in Secondary and College Classrooms to your holiday book list!

If you are already a member of the Reading and Writing group on LINCS, you may have noticed that a new microgroup has launched.

Monday, January 5, 2015 begins a month-long event exploring principles, recapping findings, sharing experiences, and discussing best practices in applying reading apprenticeships in teaching and professional development. This user-generated, user-led book study is a direct response to the strong interest and lively discussion on the community bulletin about OCTAE’s College and Career Readiness Standards. Discussion will be facilitated by Meryl Becker-Prezocki and Susan Finn-Miller.

To join in, make sure that you are a member of the LINCS Reading and Writing group. (If you’re not already a member, please join the group).

Happy holidays, and we look forward to a dynamic discussion in the New Year!
