Live Session: Assistive Technology Tools
Description: Statistics show that just over 10 percent of adults have hearing and vision-related disabilities. These students enroll in our adult education programs and need assistance to be successful. The LINCS Integrating Technology, Reading and Writing, and Disabilities and Equitable Outcomes community groups will hold a live event to provide guidance and tools to assist adult education professionals serve their students with hearing and vision-related disabilities. Learn how to use the accessibility features in Actively Learn, CommonLit, and ReadWorks as well as tips on how to make learning materials accessible for everyone.

Live Session: Transform, Engage, and Retain (TSTM)
Description: Transform a Teaching the Skills That Matter (TSTM) lesson into a virtual learning lesson using an interactive digital tool called Nearpod. In this session, participants will learn how to keep students engaged and boost student participation with collaborative activities and formative assessments like virtual reality, polls, Collaborate Boards, and game-based quizzes. Educators will also learn best practices using Nearpod and TSTM for program and classroom improvement.

Description: Joins us as we consider ways that educators can advocate for and on behalf of their students to create a more robust and supportive system for adult learners in correctional and reentry settings. We will discuss understanding the issues facing adult learners, what it means to be an advocate for students as they progress into trade or post-secondary programming, and best practices for engaging legislators and administrators.
