In the first webinar, Daquanna Harrison, MA-Psy, CNPM, owner of Elevation Educational Consulting Group, discusses increasing equity in adult education. With the executive orders related to advancing racial equity and support for underserved communities, she asks participants to consider:

  • How could your State’s systems provide more equity in adult education?
  • From your position, how have you supported and how can you support equity in adult education?
  • What does your State need in order to be able to bring more equity to adult education?

In the second webinar, Jen Vanek, from the EdTech Center@World Education and facilitator of the IDEAL Consortium; Brad Hasskamp, Minnesota State ABE Director; and Susan Wetenkamp-Brandt, Senior Manager at Literacy Minnesota, shared ideas for planning and policy work that can support continual implementation of effective distance education. The pandemic and the related quick shift to remote instruction and a subsequent increase in the use of distance education led state-level leaders to reconsider policy and practice.
