Teaching the Skills that Matter in Adult Education (TSTM) Cohort 5 – Applications Due September 7, 2022!

Applications are currently open for TSTM Cohort 5.  TSTM is an OCTAE-funded national training and technical assistance activity designed to build capacity by improving instruction in adult basic skills classes. In its 5th year, the TSTM project has provided training to adult educators from 31 states and has hosted two virtual conferences with attendance of over 1,000 adult educators each year.

TSTM trains adult education teachers how to integrate the nine skills that matter to adult learners into their instruction using three approaches that work across five critical topics areas of civics education, digital literacy, financial literacy, health literacy and workforce preparation.  The 8-month state cohort training and coaching happens through state teams of four nominated classroom teachers and a state professional development leader.

All states are invited and encouraged to apply.  TSTM Cohort 5 applications are due on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. Up to 10 states will be accepted to participate in the TSTM professional development training.  To apply for TSTM Cohort 5, please click here.
