The SIA English Learners Virtual Training Institutes are OCTAE-funded national trainings. Training activities focus on how to design instruction that simultaneously engages ELs in two critical instructional needs: English language and academic content development.
We invite you to sign up for this virtual training as an individual AEFLA adult educator or as a state- or local program team. This training is designed for all adult educators who work with ELs, be it in an English language acquisition program or ABE. Participants will gain new skills and knowledge they can immediately use with learners.

This training will be offered three times, beginning in January, March, and May 2023. Each training comprises six half-days of activities offered over a three-week period. Nationally renowned EL experts Harold Asturias (EL/mathematics) and Lydia Stack (EL/literacy) are leading the sessions, with support from our SIA trainers.
