Good afternoon all,
The AIR-PIAAC’s First Research Conference, Taking the Next Step with PIAAC: A Research-to-Action Conference, will be held on December 11 and 12 at the Key Bridge Marriott Hotel in Alexandria, VA. This conference, hosted by the American Institutes for Research (AIR) and Dollar General, will provide an opportunity to learn about key findings from the 11 research papers commissioned by AIR through funding provided by the U. S. Department of Education's National Center for Education Statistics. The research papers can be found at this link:
These papers were authored by subject-expert researchers and discuss research questions related to immigration, health, inequality, adult learning, digital literacy, job market outcomes, and adult education. The conference will begin with remarks by Johan Uvin, Acting Assistant Secretary of the Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education of the U.S. Department of Education, followed by panel presentations of the papers. Where? Key Bridge Marriott Hotel (1401 Lee Highway, Arlington, VA 22209).
The Key Bridge Marriott is a 10 minute drive from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and a few minutes’ walk from the Rosslyn Metro Station (Blue/Orange/Silver lines).
Why? This unique conference will be of high interest to education, health, and labor economist researchers, as well as practitioners and state/local policymakers from a variety of fields who are interested in using the PIAAC data in diverse ways.
