The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Ad Council have released a Public Service Advertisement (PSA) to raise awareness among persons with disabilities, their families and caregivers about being prepared for emergencies. "We Prepare Everyday" is the first in a series of videos that show people with disabilities taking steps to prepare for emergencies. This two minute long PSA includes open captioning, a certified deaf interpreter, and audio descriptions.

Great video, especially as we see the flooding and fires on the news. In this video, I especially like that the speaker talks slowly and that words appear over the objects that are being packed away in each individual's emergency kit (toilet paper...got to add that to the list). Here are the Emergency Preparedness Tools from the Center for Disease Control, with group specific considerations. And, there is an Emergency Prepareness infographic that could be discussed in class. I did find a Family Emergency Plan in Spanish from FEMA but was surprised that more materials aren't available in other languages. Anyone know a good source for emergency preparedness information in different languages?
