================================
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Coalition of Lifelong Learning Organizations  (COLLO)

Dear Colleagues:

It is with deep sadness that I inform you of the death of Dr. Marjean Buckner, our adult education colleague.  Her son, Michael Buckner called me the other day and asked that I pass along this much regretted information, attached below is the Obituary.  Marjean was tireless in her adult education efforts for many years.

To many of you she was a dear friend and worked with you in various adult education organizations.  She was President of the American Association of Adult and Continuing Education [AAACE] from 2004-2006.  She was Chair of the International Unit of AAACE and was instrumental in its becoming the Commission on International Adult Education [CIAE].  She was a president of the Coalition of Lifelong Learning Organization [COLLO], from 2008 to 2010.  She had interest in the International Society of Comparative Adult Education [ISCAE].  Marjean was inducted into the International Adult and Continuing Education Hall of Fame [IACEHOF] in 2014, which Michael [her son] said she considered the top recognition of her accomplishments in the field of adult education.

I am asking each of you to pass this information along to others adult education colleagues through the various organizations and websites with which you are connected.

Let us continue our adult education endeavors in part to honor her memory among us.

Kindest and Warmest Regards,
John A. Henschke, EdD, Emeritus Professor of Andragogy, Lindenwood University, St. Charles, MO.
