October 5th-9th: Discussion on Self-Determination, Grit and Academic Resilience

In anticipation of our week long discussion on self-determination, grit and academic resilience, we encourage you to spend some time looking at Learning to Achieve:  A Professional’s Guide to Educating Adults with Learning Disabilities and Promoting Grit, Tenacity, and Perseverance: Critical Factors for Success in the 21st Century.  We will be referring to these resources over the week (Oct 5th -9th), and our panelists will be sharing some highlights from these resources for you think think about and relate to yourself and your learners.

We have a diverse and knowledgeable panel who are going to share their experiences in working with learners ranging from transition age youth (14-21) to adult basic and post-secondary education.  Please take some time to review these resources over the next few days, and then come with your questions and comments, starting on Monday, October 5th!

Best,

Mike and Cynthia
