Queens Library Job Opportunity: Director of Learning and Literacy, Jamaica, NY

The Queens Library is seeking a Director of Learning and Literacy will develop, lead, manage and coordinate all aspects of formal and informal learning services. Provide professional leadership to coordinate literacy initiatives, ESOL, online educational offerings, GED, pre-GED, and adult basic education. Focused on adult services, ensures continuum of service for all ages including Family Literacy, Teen Services and Learning and Literacy services for young adults. Strong understanding of adult learning, ESOL, grant funded programs and other literacy activities, and a fierce commitment to customer service.

Must possess a Master’s Degree in Education, Adult Education or related field, and at least eight years in a management capacity in an adult literacy program with non-traditional adult educational programs, preferably in a nonprofit environment. Grant writing or program implementation with government preferred. Understanding of and experience in preparing financial/budget reports.
