U.S. Department of Energy Announces $10 Million for National Solar Training Programs

The Energy Department recently announced two new opportunities for those interested in careers in the solar industry.

First, the Department announced that five U.S. military bases will join Solar Ready Vets, a jobs training program that prepares service members for careers in the solar industry when they transition to the civilian sector.

The Department also plans to award $10 million to 10 new projects through its Solar Training and Education for Professionals (STEP) funding program, which was created to help meet the solar industry’s growing demand for well-qualified, highly skilled installers and other industry-related professionals.
