Webinar Announcement: Next Steps in Advancing Equity in Adult, Community College, and Career and Technical Education

On October 31, the U.S. Department of Education hosted the National Advancing Equity in Adult, Community College, and Career and Technical Education Symposium that explored strategies for improving equity for youth and adults.  In case you missed this event, we will be providing a recap of the topics discussed and covering the upcoming activities this project will be completing the rest of the year at our upcoming webinar!

Please join us on Thursday, December 1st  from 3-4 pm ET for a U.S. Department of Education sponsored webinar to continue our Symposium discussions and consider options for next steps.  Your host will be Dr. Terri Boyer (Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey).  Webinar topics will include a synthesis of the five equity pillars shared at the event, a summary of recommendations offered by Symposium participants, and action steps for engaging the field in expanding equitable student access to adult, community college, and career and technical education programming.

To continue the dialogue, the Department has created the Advancing Equity Community of Practice, hosted on the Department’s LINCS website.  Here, you can share ideas and engage in discussions with other individuals who share your commitment to equity.  If you have not yet done so, click here -- https://community.lincs.ed.gov/help/how-do-i-create-new-account-or-register-community to create your LINCS account.
