The link below comes from the Chronicle of Higher Ed's newsletter.  While I understand that not too many of us are teaching post secondary coursework in our secure facilities, the premise of the article is both interesting and applicable to correctional ed classrooms.  The videos are good advice for teachers dealing mainly with first generation higher ed (but also, I think, good for ABE classrooms) students and are insightful about some of the challenges faced by students embarking on a somewhat unknown path.
