Member Request for Help on Career Pathways After a Conviction

Recently, a member of our community reached out for support on career pathway options for individuals with a professional background, who have faced criminal conviction charges, and are trying to navigate a new career path. I was surprised, once again, by the diverse population of adult learners we have in our midst in the LINCS community. I confessed that I wasn’t familiar with programs that offer advice for individuals in his situation.

What is the Impact of a Felony Conviction on Released Inmates' Careers Prospects?

In June, the Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR) released its research on data from the Bureau of Justice Statistics, to author a report estimating that there were between 14 and 15.8 million working-age people with felony convictions in 2014.  The full report is available here.
