U.S. Department of Education Proposes Overhaul of Gainful Employment Regulations

The U.S. Department of Education has announced a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) that proposes to rescind Gainful Employment (GE) regulations in order to provide useful, transparent higher education data to students and treat all institutions of higher education fairly. 

ED Announces Gainful Employment Negotiators

Recently, the U.S. Department of Education released the names of the negotiators who will be tasked with rewriting the federal gainful employment regulation. In June, Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos made the announcement that the department would engage in negotiated rulemaking on the issue. The negotiators were selected from among educators, business and industry groups, consumer advocates, and accreditors.

ED Releases Final Debt-to-Earnings Rates for Gainful Employment Programs

The U.S. Department of Education (ED) has released the first debt-to-earnings (D/E) rates for career training programs as required by the landmark Gainful Employment (GE) regulations
