Questions to the Field: Integrating OER and Free Resources in Adult Education

Last month at a meeting with distance learning adult educators from around the country, I had the opportunity to present on OER integration and share CrowdED Learning’s SkillBlox initiative. My copresenter from Pennsylvania walked through the evolution they have gone through with their GED distance learning program, and how that led to a model strategy for integrating free and open education resources into their curriculum.

The LINCS Community is pleased to announce its first book group, Reading for Understanding: How Reading Apprenticeship Improves Disciplinary Learning in Secondary and College Classrooms.

A direct result of strong user interest and lively discussion, this book study will offer an online space for exploring the principles of Reading Apprenticeship while providing a reading schedule and discussion facilitated by Meryl Becker-Prezocki and Susan Finn-Miller.

Hello friends, As a culminating activity in the class I'm teaching now, students are making presentations. In the past, the students and I have worked together to design a rubric to help them plan their presentations as well as to use for peer, self and teacher feedback on the presentations.
