The economic impact of adult education

Hello colleagues, Judy Mortrude from the Center for Law and Social Policy's (CLASP) Center for Postsecondary and Economic Success has written a compelling article in the most recent COABE Journal on the importance and value of earning a postsecondary credential. Mortrude focuses on the role of adult education in supporting adult learners to gain that credential.

It can be overwhelming to “start” a career pathways system and get lost in the initial development of the program, but for career pathways to truly succeed one must give thought to how we will sustain it beyond the initial start-up phase.  It takes funding, policy and continuous professional development to do so.  Funding and return-on-investment is critical for long time success.
