Hello!

My name is Gin Dugan. I'm a teacher in Rutland VT with Vermont Adult Learning, and have been with the organization for over 15 years. As part of the ANI professional development that I am currently participating in, I have found the activities from the EMPower series to be the most engaging with my students. One of my favorites thus far has been the Rose Problem from Everyday Number Sense because it really makes students examine their reasoning. I tried it one on one and with a small group of students working together just to see what logical reasoning skills they were using to solve the problem, and then we went back through to prove their answers. Very lively discussions all around!
