Reminder: HSE Survey deadline 1/8/16

HI all,

Hoping the New Year is treating you all well.  I just wanted to remind you of the 12 question survey the New York City Coalition for Adult Literacy posted on LINCS in December.  We have had responses from many states but still haven’t heard from anyone in the following states:

Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming, and Washington DC

The deadline for the survey is close of business JANUARY 8 (corrected-previously said December).  We are looking for as many responses as possible from all states and from anyone who works in adult education and has some experience with the current High School Equivalency tests.

What is your experience with the various HSE tests?

Hi all,

In New York State we currently only have the TASC as our HSE test.  To help us develop our advocacy work around HSE, the New York City Coalition for Adult Literacy would like to learn more about how the HSE process is going in other states, particularly the experiences of adult education providers with preparing students to take the different tests (GED, HiSET, or TASC).  We are also very interested in the pros and cons of offering multiple tests as a path to a state high school equivalency diploma.

We have developed a 12 question survey to help us gather this information and would very much appreciate your input.  The survey is for anyone working in adult education.  Please share the link to the survey with your colleagues.  We ask that you respond to the survey by close of business on January 8.
