Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship Program (510 awards up to $2,500 each)

Receive up to $2,500 to pursue a career or technical certificate/degree

  • Have completed high school or plan to complete high school by Spring 2016 with plans to enroll at a community college for the first time by fall 2016
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a career or technical program at an accredited non-profit community college in the United States
  • Demonstrated critical financial need (must be eligible to receive the Federal Pell grant as determined by completion of the FAFSA)
  • Demonstrated perseverance in overcoming adversity
  • Be involved in community service activities
  • Be younger than 30 years old
  • Be a United States citizen

The application period is open through June 1, 2016

The deadline for the Horatio Alger Career and Technical Scholarship Program has been extended to August 1st.  Adults under 30 can receive up to $2,500 to pursue career and/or technical certificate or degree programs.  Share this with your Career Pathways networks today!

Applicants must:

  • Have completed high school (or earned a GED)
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a career or technical program at an accredited non-profit post-secondary institution in the United States
  • Demonstrate critical financial need (must be eligible to receive the Federal Pell grant as determined by completion of the FAFSA)
  • Demonstrate perseverance in overcoming adversity
  • Be under the age of 30
  • Be a United States citizen
