Registration closes on Tuesday, March 26 at Midnight, CST for the 2013 Wisconsin Health Literacy Summit: Changing Systems, Changing Lives on April 9-10, 2013 in Madison, Wis. This event will address system-level barriers to improving health literacy, with the goal of addressing health care system goals, such as improving quality and patient satisfaction outcomes.
Keynote presenters include: Byron Pitts of CBS News/60 Minutes and Dr. Zorba Paster of National Public Radio's "Zorba Paster: On Your Health". We will also feature more than 25 breakout session presenters on topics ranging from how to simplify written information to how to obtain senior level support for health literacy initiatives.
The pre-Summit meeting, Starting and Growing a Health Literacy Coalition: Tools to Move Forward, will provide an opportunity for participants to engage in facilitated small group discussions focused on how to begin and sustain health literacy coalitions and initiatives - at the local, state and regional levels. Later in the afternoon we will shift our attention to a national health literacy professional association. What would this look like and what are the attributes you would want to see in a professional association? Come add your ideas as to how such a professional association may help to move the rapidly growing field of health literacy forward.

This event is co-presented by Health Literacy Wisconsin, a division of Wisconsin Literacy, Inc. and the Wisconsin Research and Education Network (WREN).
