Halloween Lesson Ideas & Resources

Hello colleagues, No doubt, some teachers are looking to make connections to the Halloween holiday next week. Here are a couple of links to some interesting lesson plans and resources.

SCIENCE

Harvard assistant professor of psychology, Dr. Steven Schlozman talks "about his start in teaching, his recent book “The Zombie Autopsies: Secret Notebooks from the Apocalypse” and how to use zombies to teach science." There is a Zombie in My Classroom site includes lots of links to additional relevant resources.

LANGUAGE ARTS

Amanda Christy Brown's Lesson in the New York Times Learning Network targets standards at 6-8 and 9-12 -- The Horror! The Horror! "In this lesson, students identify the conventions of the horror genre and analyze films and texts to uncover these conventions in action."

SOCIAL STUDIES
