In a recent bulletin, you were invited to attend a free Webinar TODAY on using the "Hair" issue of The Change Agent (a magazine of adult student writings) in the classroom. To still register and join that session, CLICK HERE! SIGN UP for the Webinar today, and get ready to return here to build your writing toolkit for students!
The Change Agent, an Adult Education Magazine for Social Justice, provides socially relevant content, powerful student writing that inspires discussion, and ready-to-use, CCR-aligned lesson plans – all oriented toward a multi-level audience. The site offers several free resources, in addition to very low subscription choices, to support your reading and writing instruction with prompts and plans that also encourage reflection and cognitive development.
Following today's Webinar, on Thursday, and Friday of next week, April 19, and 20, you are being offered another free gift: a lively discussion right in our own communities on the free resources listed for you by The Change Agent, led by the Presenter, Cynthia Peters. In that discussion, we will explore best practices in getting adults at all levels to express their views and, who knows, perhaps get published!
Change from previous dates: I previously announced the Change Agent discussion dates as Wed, Th, and F. However, since we will have another engaging session starting with Monday's Webinar, "2nd in Series on Teaching Academic Writing to English Learners," we will postpone starting the discussion on The Change Agent resources to next Thursday and Friday. That way, you can completely focus on each at a time!
Please be sure to join us for both fantastic discussions that will definitely enrich your toolkit of tricks in our trade!
The follow-up discussion on Free Agent resources will be announced on Wednesday as "Teaching Reading and Writing with The Change Agent." Stay tuned.
If you have topics/questions that you would like discussed after this Webinar, post them here, and we'll treat them royally! Leecy
