Welcome New Community Moderator Steve Schmidt

LINCS is excited to welcome Steve Schmidt, the new moderator of the LINCS Community Reading and Writing Group! Steve will begin his new role on January 2nd, taking over for Jeri Gue.

Steve is an adult education national consultant having recently retired as the Assistant Director of Adult Basic Skills Professional Development (ABSPD) at Appalachian State University. He has worked full time in adult basic education for 27 years as an instructor, coordinator, local program director, author and since 2010 as a professional developer. He is a certified STAR trainer in evidence-based reading practices and has authored numerous writing instruction textbooks.

In his role as a Community moderator, Steve will facilitate discussions, introduce topics, and answer questions from the Community. Please welcome Steve to the LINCS Community!

The LINCS Team wishes to acknowledge and thank Jeri Gue for her significant contribution to the Community over her tenure as moderator. For example, she designed and moderated a discussion on Building a Toolkit for Adult Learning with CrowdED that generated high levels of interest and participation over a 3-month time period.  She has been crucial to the success of LINCS and a leader in the field of adult education. We look forward to her continued contribution to LINCS in her new role – member, poster, and frequent commentator. Thank you, Jeri!

Keep learning,

The LINCS Team
