Last chance to register for Contextualized Instruction online course!

Contextualized Instruction is a 7-week online course offered through a partnership between World Education and the College and Career Pathways Institute at La Guardia Community College. The next scheduled session starts on Monday, October 2nd and we have a few spots left!

Contextualized instruction is a proven teaching technique that helps students develop academic and work readiness skills while exploring career pathways. By contextualizing instruction you offer students an opportunity to explore new career-focused content areas that will help to motivate them as they work toward their goals.

In this fully facilitated and highly participatory course, educators will learn about the principles and techniques of contextualized instruction and will have the opportunity to explore a sample lesson, both from the student and teacher perspectives. Participants do not need to be online at specific times, instead, discussion forums and weekly deadlines help participants learn from each other and move forward as a group. The facilitator provides feedback on assignments and joins in the conversation. Participants who complete the course will receive a 24-hour certificate of completion and will be prepared to implement contextualized lessons in their own classrooms.
