Holiday Traditions Around the World

Hello colleagues, Teachers and learners alike are anticipating taking some time off for the winter holidays. A focus on cultural holiday traditions from around the world can make for a great social studies lesson at this time of year. This site features holidlay traditions from various geographic regions:

  • Iceland: Thirteen Yule Lads
  • Greece: Christmas Boats
  • Czech Republic & Netherlands: St. Nicholas Day
  • Philippines: Simbang Gabi
  • India: Diwali
  • Mexico: Los Pasadas
  • Israel: Sufganiyot

and many more!  Enjoy!

Take care, Susan Finn Miller
