Hello colleagues, Monday, January 18 is a day to celebrate and remember Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Some teachers may like to draw from this list of 25 inspiring MLK quotations for a lesson.
There are so many instructional activities that could be done. For example, choose a quote to share and have students do a quick write; assign students different quotes to discuss in a small group and then share with the whole class; have students do some research online to find out about the context of the quote; have the students study the vocabulary and teach a word to their classmates; have students draw or look for a photo online that reflects their quote and share their image in a Google slide to share with the class.
I know there are many more ideas that teachers could come up with. Feel free to share your idea!
Take care, Susan Finn Miller

I love this and to have students choose a quote that they could see themselves doing and practicing in their own lives.
