How do you facilitate a mutual learning experiences with English-learning students?

Lee Shainis of Intercambio wrote, " We found that mutual learner mindset inspires our English-learning students to talk more often and honestly about their lives and perspectives. This accelerates language acquisition, amplifies students' voices, and opens doors for teachers to learn more and for students to teach. The reciprocal learning also deepens connections, reduces biases and assumptions, and increases a sense of belonging. All these changes lead to a more equitable, cohesive society and to increased participation and persistence rates at English progress." Question: How do you facilitate a two-way mutual learning experience with English-learning students?

What are other ways do you promote a more equitable, cohesive learning experience for English-learning students?

Lee Shainis will be LINCS' English Language Acquisition Community group guest host on September 15 at 3:00 p.m. ET. Stay tuned for more information! (Professional Development and Program Management Community groups are teaming up with ELA for this event as well.)
