CFPB releases Focus on Reentry: Criminal Justice revised financial empowerment guide for justice-involved individuals

Need free financial literacy and empowerment tools for those you are working with? Continuing our efforts to financially empower justice-involved consumers and their families, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (consumerfinance.gov) - released a revised Focus on Reentry: Criminal Justice guide  as part of its Your Money, Your Goals financial empowerment resources. The guide is designed to help frontline staff address the unique financial challenges of individuals involved in the criminal justice system - getting and reviewing credit reports from prison, background screening rights, developing budgets, choosing financial products and many others. This free resource is available both online – in downloadable, auto-fillable and auto-calculable format - and in print. The CFPB also has colorful, compact booklets that focus on the common financial stressors with simplified tools from the Your Money, Your Goals toolkit and are available in a format accessible to correctional facilities. Order your free copies.   The guide can be used pre- and post-release, inside correctional facilities or in the community with the people you serve.  We are also hosting a one-hour webinar to introduce the guide and tools.
