Ashly and group - I have been using Facebook and WhatsApp to teach remotely for more than 5 years. Usually I post texts, videos and lessons from my website, pumarosa. These are "short and quick", and the students like them. And a lot of teachers use them.
I strongly recommend using lessons online as homework to accompany "live" or Zoom lessons. There is strong evidence to indicate that students actually enjoy them and also....learn faster.
Anyway, here is an example of a "test" to help people learn grammar, especially verb tenses.

Thanks, Jamie, I will review your information. From the point of view of the learner, the use of WhatsApp and online learning can increase interest and also speed-up learning. For example, below is an excerpt from a letter I received from the director of an adult school concerning the use of my website.
"I used Pumarosa as homework assignment material with my students. Students received a 2 hour per week in-person session and 2 hours of homework assignment per week. Our Literacy Program uses CASAS to measure students' performance. It would normally take 1 year for students to improve 1 grade level. In my class students would jump 1 grade level every 3 months."
I have created different groups on WhatsApp with about 100 students from all over Latin America. I also post lessons on several of my Facebook groups. I send texts, videos, audios, websites, etc. My program is "informal" in that I do not give tests or regular classes.
I think that in order to learn anything well, students need to become indepedent learners eventually. And WhatsApp is a good tool for this.
