TESOL for migrants in New York

Hi everyone!

As a French teacher for adult migrants, I am planning to conduct a 6 month research in New York City. The topic of this project is American teacheres' use(s) of humor in TESOL classes for adult migrants. The first step is to collect data in three schools of English for adult migrants (intermediary/advanced levels).

Does anyone have an idea where I could find a sort of list of public/private institutions that offer this kind of classes?

Thank you very much for your help and have a nice day!

Merci!

Laura

Check with the Literacy Assistance Center (lacnyc.org) for a master list of programs in NYC.

Also - the New York Public Library is one of the largest free programs and offers classes at all levels in many locations.  The contact person here would be Steven Mahoney (stevenmahoney@nypl.org)
