Hello!
Does anyone know how I can find out how adult literacy services are administered in a certain state? Is there a website where I can learn how the different states deliver their instruction?
I am doing a project that covers 6 counties in central NY and I'm trying to find out how we might tap into the ABE system to address health literacy and work for better engagement in primary care services.
Thanks for any help you can offer!
Julie

Here's the link to the list of State Directors of Adult Education that is on the US Department of Education's website: http://wdcrobcolp01.ed.gov/Programs/EROD/org_list.cfm?category_cd=DAE.
I'm not sure it's what you are looking for, but you'll note that the New York State Education Department administers the adult education state grant in New York.
I would suggest that you contact the BOCES in each region. They coordinate adult education in different regions of the state. BOCES also work with

You might also contact the Regional Adult Education Network (RAEN) directors. For example, Jim Matt is the RAEN director in the Central Southern Tier:
