Apply Now for 3-Day PIAAC Training in Portland, OR

  When: June 14 - 16, 2016 

Where: Portland State University

You are invited to apply for a 3-day PIAAC Research Training event for research teams. This training is funded by the Institute for Education Sciences (IES) and organized by Portland State University, the American Institutes for Research (AIR), and Educational Testing Service (ETS). Research teams selected to attend a 3-day training event will receive a stipend to cover hotel costs and a per diem allowance for food for each day of the training event. A limited number of travel scholarships are available to those who can demonstrate they have exhausted all other means of travel support.

Applications are due on May 2 with acceptances sent out by May 6.

Applicants
The training grant has an overarching priority to encourage researchers from diverse races/ethnicities and backgrounds to apply, especially individuals whose educational opportunities have been limited by inadequate educational resources, disabilities, or other circumstances. Training events are funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education's Institute for Educational Sciences. All trainings are open to researchers, practitioners, and policy analysts who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents who have research experience in the fields of education, sociology, public health, correctional education/criminal justice, economics, or related areas. A limited number of international researchers will be accepted to participate, however restrictions apply (contact jcastek@pdx.edu for specifics).  Participants should have experience using SPSS, Stata or SAS statistical software.
