April was a busy month for the community. Below are some highlights in case you missed the threads.
- ANN Under 10 Live Stream
- This event happened at COABE 2019 and these videos will be made available on the Adult Numeracy Website. Look for that announcement from the group later this year. If you want to review the prior ANN Under 10 event videos, they are available by going to https://www.adultnumeracynetwork.org/under10/
- Literacy Level Math OER
- An instructor was looking for resources for NRS Level 1 and slightly beyond learners. CoP members were able to assist with this question.
- Event: LINCS Open Math - Open Resources Virtually Facilitated Online Course
- This was an announcement about an upcoming event on April 22, a could is being offered on Open Math Resources. It is facilitated by Heidi Schuler-Jones and is a great way to learn more about OERs in adult education classrooms.
- Teaching integer operations a continued discussion from Pennsylvania's ANI Group
- This post discusses some "ah-ha" moments during an ANI training about using manipulatives and integers. This is a great discussion to continue on integers to flesh out real-world contexts for these positive and negative numbers.
- Polynomial long division
- This post is a great discussion around about tying long division with polynomial long division and what is important.
