Professional Development Provider Colleagues,
I would like to know more about state, sub-state and regional adult basic skills education professional development organizations. Perhaps you would, too. If you are a staff member of, or a consultant or contractor with, a state, sub-state, or regional adult basic skills education (e.g. ESL/ESOL. Basic Literacy, ABE, ASE, Transition etc.) professional development providing organization. please list yourself and your organization(s) on this "Adult Basic Skills Professional Development Providers and their Organizations by State" Google Doc. The idea is that we will all have a better idea of what organizations and individuals are providing these services. Note: because this is a private Google Doc, only accessible by bona fide adult basic skills education professional development providers, when you select the Google Doc link it will send me an email to approve your access. In that email, please include the following information so I know who you are:
- Your full name
- Your (professional development) role(s)
- Your contact information (email, phone, etc.)
- The name(s) of the professional development organization(s) you work for
- The web address of the organization
- The city/town and state of the organization(s) you work with
In addition to providing you with access to the Google Doc, I will enter the information you provide me (unless I am swamped, in which case you can enter it directly yourself.)
I look forward to your adding your information to this Google Doc. Thanks!

Adult Basic Education Professional Development Colleagues,
Several professional developers have added their PD centers' and their own names to this list, but there is plenty of opportunity for others to do so. We have several states represented now, but nowhere near all the states (and the District of Columbia, American Samoa, Guam, Northern Marianas Islands, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.)
The list is intended to include state, sub-state or regional adult basic education professional development centers. Later we might include national professional development centers too. I got one comment from a colleague who said "I wish I had had a list like this years ago!" To add your center's information and your own, go to this Google Doc and include the information below. (Note: because this is a private Google Doc, only accessible by bona fide adult basic skills education professional development providers, when you select the Google Doc link it will ask you to request approval, and will send me an email that I will approve as quickly as possible.).

Professional Development Colleagues,
Check out this Google Doc to see if your state is one of the ten that already have adult education professional development centers listed. Also, perhaps in your state you know of another professional development center (maybe yours!) that should be listed. If so, please ask them to go to the Google Doc and list their center, and themselves, now.
Thanks,
David J. Rosen

Professional Development Colleagues,
Seventeen States and One Regional Center now have their state or local professional development provider(s) listed. I have also just created a new category where independent adult basic skills (including basic literacy, ABE/ASE, ESL/ESOL/ELA, and transition to post-secondary) professional development and training providers can list themselves and their firms. Add your information, your center's or your firm's information here. Note: because this is a private Google Doc, only accessible by bona fide adult basic skills education professional development providers, when you select the Google Doc link you will be asked to request approval, and I will be sent an email that I will approve as quickly as possible. When you request approval, and when you later enter the information on the Google Doc, please provide this information:

Professional Development Colleagues,
Eighteen states now have their state or local professional development provider(s) listed. I also created a category where independent adult basic skills (including basic literacy, ABE/ASE, ESL/ESOL/ELA, and transition to post-secondary) professional development and training providers can list themselves and their firms.
Here's a list of states, in alphabetical order for which there are no listings. I believe several do in fact offer adult basic skills professional development but haven't listed themselves yet. If one of these is your state perhaps you can do something about that.
Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin , Wyoming
Add your information, your center's or your firm's information here.
