I have a question for teachers:
What are the barriers to addressing health literacy in your classes?
- Is it a lack of interest?
- Lack of resources?
- Not knowing where to start?
- Pressure to stick to curricula?
I would love to know! In my experience, many teachers have found it difficult to get started, but very worthwile once they do. They find that it engages students, and helps them to make progress in their language and literacy skills. I am sure that this community can help address some of the barriers that may be making it difficult.
