I think you may find this 3 1/2 minute video on the link between literacy, numeracy and computer skills to the poverty cycle interesting. A growing body of research shows that parents pass advantage or disadvantage to their children, the video reports. Although it doesn't reference PIAAC data, it is consistent with the phase one findings for the U.S. It was made by The Center for Community Solutions and The Literacy Cooperative in Cleveland.

David Rosen had passed it along to me, given my interest in PIAAC. He learned about it from Twitter suggesting that he follow The Literacy Cooperative in Cleveland, which he now does! And I will now, too.
