COABE 2015 App Now Available! / Mark Calendars for App Chat

Dear PD Colleagues,

I am cross-posting the message below from Nell Eckersley, SME of the Technology and Learning COP (please see below). The App now has the capability for presenters to post their handouts and for participants to engage in discussions affiliated with every conference session. It's an opportunity to reach beyond "brick and mortar" of the conference. So even if you can't be there, you can participate from a distance. Presenter schedules will be available through the App later today.

Also, mark your calendars for the first ever "App Chat" to be held live through the App from the COABE Conference: Thursday, April 23, 9:15 am Mountain Time (10:15 am CT/11:15 am ET)

Dr. Johan Uvin will be joined by Cheryl Keenan, Director of Adult Education and Literacy, to discuss the federal policy and legislative initiatives that impact the adult education-eligible population (the federal skills agenda, the Upskill America initiative, WIOA, etc.) and answer questions. This is a unique opportunity to have your questions answered, and to participate virtually through the App.

Hi all,

The 2015 COABE Conference is a month away. For a second year COABE is using a conference app.  Not only is the app useful if you are attending the conference, but it allows those who cannot attend to participate virtually.  The COABE 2015 app is already available --you can download the it on your mobile devices by going to this link http://doubledutch.me/download.aspx?appId=7f3b9a07-e05f-428b-9103-6148d7ec1228&region=US.  There, along with the downloadable COABE 2015 app, you can access the HTML 5 version to use on your desktop or laptop computer.

There are already affinity groups available on the COABE 2015 app.  These follow the conference strands and give you the opportunity to interact now with other people who are interested in the same topics as you.  There's a technology affinity group just waiting for you to join. Introduce yourself, meet presenters, and let other group members know what you hope to learn at the conference this year.

best,

Nell
