A while back I found that some folks had put up some videos on YouTube of a computer math summit right here in my area... alas, it was over... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqFh3Bt40Qc&feature=relmfu They recently had another, in the UK... and have started a discussion forum. There's a post on the value of teaching long division ( https://www.computerbasedmath.org/forum/index.php?/topic/6-thoughts-on-long-division/ )where I've plopped my opinion and yet another link to that wonderful Focus on Basics article on "parts and wholes."
It's probably more of a K-12 discussion, but there might be computer resources discussed that we'll want to know about.
