Corrections Strategies that May Work in Your Classroom

Research has shown that inmates who participate in education programs during their incarceration are 43% less likely to return to prison. That statistic is one of many reasons why Kim King, Instructor with Idaho Department of Corrections, loves her job. “I love helping [the corrections] population, and they need people who care about them. Even on a shoestring budget.”

After working in a correctional facility for 13 years, Kim has identified a number of teaching strategies that help her students find success on the GED® test. These strategies can also be applied in regular adult education classrooms, too.  Click here to read some of Kim’s strategies in the InSession blog from GED Testing Service.
