I have been a facilitator for simulations in the SF Bay area for NCBIDA.  I can attest to the power of the tool !  I was also a "subject participant" and experienced the feelings of angst and anxiety!  Our presentation to a local PTA group I believe resulted in some of our district resource teachers receiving Barton Training... due to parent pressure and possible PTA funding.  So glad to see this available as a kit!  This should help widen the reach...Kudos!

I would highly recommend it for an Adult Education Professional Development!

Hi Maureen and Kelli,

This resource interests me very much.  I did my doctoral research on disability awareness using simulation activities.  I worked with many groups of adults and children.  It is very powerful and can facilitate significant attitude change.

Thanks for jumping into the conversation.

Hello all,

The website Misunderstood Minds, http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/misunderstoodminds/intro.html includes information and disability simulation activities.  The menu on the left of the page links to simulations of problems in attention, reading, writing, math, memory, etc.  In spite of the tragedy surrounding Dr. Mel Levine, his work is still valuable.
