I'm having some difficulty putting together a lesson plan for energy and the food chain, that isn't mostly internet based. While I do have access to a computer and a projector at one site, I don't have that technology at my other site. How does anyone who is tech deficient, like me, teach these science concepts in a way that's fun and engaging?

Hi Beth,
Here is a link to a lesson I use.

And here is another link to a NOVA lesson. For this one, you need to be able to watch a video.

Let me know if these were helpful.

Hi Beth,
Here are a couple of resources in the LINCS Resource Collection and prior discussions you might like:
Energy Literacy: Essential Principles and Fundamental Concepts for Energy Education: This provides a framework for science education as it relates to energy education. I think you can find ideas that can be adapted to your classroom and teaching styles.
Science on the Go - Best Podcasts: This is a list of some great science podcasts - and the discussion provides ideas and strategies for use.
Friends,are there any additional ideas?
Sincerely,
