Financial Aid Toolkit - Resources for Teachers and Counselors

U.S. Department of Education's office of Federal Student Aid (FSA), has consolidated and organized FSA resources into an interactive and searchable Financial Aid Toolkit that can be used by organizations and individuals that interact with, support, or counsel FSA's target audiences.

Besides supporting the work of high school guidance counselors and college access professionals, the toolkit will help individuals who don't typically work in the federal student aid arena to assist individuals with financial aid. Such individuals could include staff or volunteers at community-based organizations and also adult education programs.

In my opinion, the most valuable aspect of this excellent new resource is the Search Financial Aid Tools and Resources page, where you can filter resources by audience, topic, seasonality (time of year), and type of resource. There are plenty of resources that come up if you select the audience as Adult Students then a lot of interesting resources come up. Please give it a try, I tried Infographics for Adult Students and the results have really good visual resources around eligibility and the overall financial aid process.

Please share your reactions to the Toolkit and ways in which you see yourself using its resources.

I will highlight a resource from the Toolkit tomorrow so please stay tuned.
