Free online modules on English Language Proficiency Standards

Hello colleagues, Many of us have been working hard to raise the rigor of our instruction to be in line with our individual state's content standards, e.g., College and Career Readiness Standards. We now also have the English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) that are designed to support standards-aligned instruction for English learners.

Did you know that LINCS now houses 3 free, self-paced ELPS online modules to assist teachers to learn about the standards and how they can guide lesson planning, teaching, and learning?

The topics for the online courses include:

  • Introduction to the English Language Proficiency Standards for Adult Education
  • Analyzing Student Tasks in Relation to Content Demands,Thinking Skills and Language Use
  • Digging Deeper into the English Language Proficiency Standards for Adult Education

These online courses offer a great opportunity to learn more about the ELPS and how to implement these standards. When you get a chance, check out these new resources, and let us know what you think!
