Health Insurance Literacy - New Study

Hi Everyone,

I want to pass on some information about this study on health insurance literacy:

A new study by the Urban Institute shines a light on health insurance literacy—as many researchers have been doing. The ACA has been great for promoting the idea that people who haven’t had insurance need to understand complex terminology.

This study shows racial/ethnic disparities in health literacy understanding http://hrms.urban.org/briefs/literacy-by-race.html

It’s a great intersection of health literacy/health education and health policy. The policy people suddenly “get” why this issue is so important.

It also shows how much need there is among our adult learners to get some help with these concepts and skills. I think that these skills include numeracy and financial literacy in addition to health literacy.

I hope you find it helpful!
