Health Insurance Resources - Intermediate Level

First, thank you, Kathy, for the link to the LINCS Health Literacy resources.  I agree that they are extremely well done. On the same health literacy front,  I was just searching for lesson materials on the topic of health insurance for the intermediate level (adults).  I endeavored to teach on that topic this morning and wished I had had 3 hours of class time.  I'm determined to follow up next week with some additional practice beyond vocabulary and reading authentic insurance cards - which is what I worked on today.  The following resource is really a good one that I'll be drawing from:

I'm wondering if anyone has any other materials they use to teach about health insurance - listening, reading and speaking in particular - at the intermediate or advanced level.

The introduction I gave today elicited some big decisions for several of my adult students including the decision to look for health insurance and decisions to actually use the health insurance plan that one student was afraid to use but had a significant health problem (which she showed me).  Wow!

If you have anything you can recommend, I'd love to see it.

Thanks for mentioning the Queen's Library's health lessons, Ellen. I've drawn from these materials a lot, and they are excellent. Kathy shared some good health-related content from the LINCS collection, there are a number of additional materials on LINCS, but I'm uncertain how the resources may deal specifically with insurance issues, which is clearly such a complicated and important topic for all adults.

If you wanted to do a search, go to the LINCS Resource Collection and enter a key word or phrase.

Members, if you know of other materials, please share them here.
