Did you see Miriam's recent post in the ELL Group about What's in and what's out for adult ESL in 2014?
I was pleased to see that many of the features on the "in" list fit beautifully with teaching health literacy:
- Content-based-instruction
- Thrive (al) English
- Integrating language and content instruction
- Teaching real vocabulary.
What do you all think? Are these more accepted and encouraged in your programs these days? If so, do you think this could make it easier to address health literacy in your classes?
