HHS Editorial on Health Literacy Research

The Journal of Health Communication has published an editorial by HHS Assistant Secretary for Health Howard Koh and collaborators at AHRQ, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion. “Toward a Systems Approach to Health Literacy Research” notes that recent policy innovations present unique opportunities for research on health care systems and health literacy. In particular, the authors suggest research questions relevant to person-centered care and health care reform.
