ICYMI: January Science Discussions and Input Requested

Let’s recap some of January’s highlights from the Science Community of Practice. First, we highlighted instructional resources from the LINCS Resource Collection.

  • What did you think about these resources?
  • Were you able to use them in your classroom?

Building on previous discussions about fake news and background knowledge, we considered the idea that many people ignore scientific facts and what that means in the classroom

  • What were your thoughts?

Drones hit our community of practice as we looked at how they could possibly be used in the adult education classroom.

  • Do you know of programs that use drones?
  • How can you see these being used in your classroom?

We learned about a new body organ and then explored how technology tools are being overused in ‘keeping babies safe.’

  • How is technology changing our daily life?
  • What does this scientific / technology revolution mean for our students?

I’d love to hear your thoughts about the topics covered in January. What would you like to discuss in February?

I'm looking forward to your comments.
