Our Intake Plan encourages self-disclosure by offering the students several areas on their orientation forms to self-disclose. For example, our Orientation Forms include a form which is entitled "Building Steps to Success." This form asks students about learning activities they enjoy or activities they don't enjoy. This form also gives the students the opportunity to express if they have ever received special help in school or if they feel they have had a difficult time learning.
Having open discussions with all students encourages the opportunity for self-disclosure. A positive environment for these open discussions will also encourage self-disclosure.
